Three mountains, one resort.
The ski resort of Sun Peaks is British Columbia's second largest ski resort with nearly 3700 acres of skiable terrain across three mountains, Mount Tod, Mount Morrisey and Sundance. The ski resort has 121 runs and over 40km of groomed cross-country trails. With a base elevation of over 1250m, Sun Peaks is one of the few B.C. resorts that has the elevation to ensure that there will be excellent snow cover.
The ski resort of Sun Peaks is a ski-in ski-out resort and the village is traffic-free. Benefiting from a recent $4 million investment this year, Sun Peaks now has a state of the art quad chairlift, raising the uphill capacity to an impressive 12000 people per hour.

Skiing in Sun Peaks offers something for all levels of skier. Advanced skiers should try the six runs to the right of the Sunburst Express. There are some challenging runs off Juniper Ridge and Spillway, along the upper east face, always has fantastic snow. Intermediate skiers in Sun Peaks could try the Sundance Ridge or the Sunburst Express for excellent intermediate skiing. The recently opened Mt Morrisey is mostly intermediate terrain. There are four new intermediate runs on the lower park of Orient Ridge.
Skiing for beginners is excellent in Sun Peaks. There are green runs descending from every lift. One of the best is the 6km run that starts at the top of the Burfield Quad and runs all the way down to the village. The nursery slops are right next to the ski village. The Gentle Giant run is perfect for complete beginners. There are two other nursery slopes - Sunbeam and Cowabunga. All of these runs are smooth and gentle.
Snowboarders of all levels in Sun Peaks ski resort will enjoy a huge choice of runs. Sun Peaks takes its parks and pipes seriously. There is a huge terrain park covering over 30 acres just to the left of the Sundance Express. There is an excellent half pipe right underneath the lift. The boarder cross course is well designed and has tabletops, spines and a variety of hits that are frequently changed and maintained. The terrain park on Sundance Mountain has rails, jumps and fun boxes. There is a mini terrain park for beginners.
The ski resort of Sun Peaks offers over 40km of cross-country skiing including half wilderness trails and half track-set trails and skating lanes.

Après ski in Sun Peaks offers something to suit every pocket. There are numerous shops, bars and restaurants within a stones throw of all accommodations from sandwich bars to fine dining. Other activities include snowmobiling, sleigh rides, snowshoeing, dog sledding and torchlight skiing. The ski resort organises other entertainment too such as 'family casino nights, ladies days, ice skating etc. The local sports centre also has a swimming pool.
The ski resort of Sun Peaks is great for families with a kids adventure park, a toboggan course and an excellent resort crèche. The area is great for families and so convenient with only a short walk to skiing, après-ski, and childcare or ski school. There's also a kids adventure park with kid-sized snowmobiles, and a toboggan course amongst other snow related activities in a monitored cordoned off area. The resort crèche takes children from 18 months.
Sun Peaks ski resort has a couple of après ski favourites, Bottom's Bar and Grill and Masa's Bar and Grill. Both have good food and sociable bars. There is currently one nightclub, Mackdaddy's, just around the corner from the Delta Hotel. There is a large dance floor and live music every weekend.
Eating out in Sun Peaks ski resort offers a great choice for all tastes and budgets. Mantles Restaurant & Bar in the Delta Sun Peaks Resort offers a menu of Pacific Northwest cuisine and also has a pizza menu. Toro's restaurant, in the Hefley Inn, specialises in Asian foods including Thai, Chinese and Japanese.
Bento's Day Lodge, east of the Village Day Lodge, is a quick cafeteria stop in your busy ski day. You can eat 'bring your own' meals here too. Out skiing in Sun Peaks, try the Sunburst Restaurant at the top of the chairlift, for great soups, salads and burgers.
Bella Italia is located in the heart of the ski village and offers fine Italian cuisine. Enjoy your meals in their patio when weather permits. The New Umbrella Cafe, located near the bottom of the Morrisey lift, offers meals and snacks.

Due to the addition of a third mountain to its ski area, the ski resort of Sun Peaks has almost 1000 acres of skiing and its' slogan is 'Three Mountains, One Village'. The resort is now ranked the largest ski area in the interior and the second largest in British Columbia behind Whistler.
The ski resort of Sun Peaks, together with its nearby smaller neighbours Big White and Silver Star, enjoys a unique combination of good quality powder and long hours of sunshine for which BC's Okanagan region is known for.
Through to 2010, Sun Peaks will be the North American training centre for the Austrian Men's and Women's alpine ski teams. Early each season, the teams will be training at the Nancy Greene International Race Centre, prior to the Lake Louise season-opening World Cup events.
Ski holidays in Sun Peaks are a great family choice as it is a very family friendly resort with plenty of facilities for children of all ages. There is a ski school, childminding centre, Kids Ranch and a Kids Adventure Park with snowmobiling and toboggan activities to keep the youngsters entertained.
There is a good choice of bars, shops and restaurants in the pedestrian centre and a top quality health club with pools, hot tub and ice-skating. There are activities galore and the resort makes much effort to provide a high quality of service and a friendly atmosphere. Après ski can be quite busy in a few of the local bars and although it is quite quiet later, you can enjoy comedy evenings at The Stube and some excellent varied dining is available.
The ski resort of Sun Peaks offers skiing for all levels of skier. Mount Tod offers some challenging terrain for advanced skiers and intermediates are well catered for across all 3 mountains with some excellent runs on Mount Morrisey. Skiing for beginners offers some easy runs on Mount Morrisey. Beginners can also enjoy the gentle nursery slopes in the village before progressing to the easy green runs.
