Pretty New England resort with an all rounder mountain
The ski resort of Stowe is a pretty traditional Vermont town with its mountain a 6 mile shuttle bus ride away. On the mountain there is something for everyone, including some serious challenges. There are great facilities for children, three terrain parks, excellent nursery slopes and the steep 'Front Four' runs. The local saying here is 'If you don't like the weather in New England, wait two mintues'!

The skiing and boarding |
 |
Skiing in Stowe offers something for everyone. The ski area has three sectors, two interlinked and one a short bus ride away. The main sector has the steep Front Four on the front side, and a back country route over the other side. Elsewhere for the expert there are plenty of gladed runs. Intermediates will find a number of blue runs on the Spruce Peak area, and beginners have excellent nursery slopes at the base of Spruce Peak, as well as some lovely long greens the opposite side, down to the Toll House and Gondola bases.

The apres ski |
 |
The ski resort of Stowe seems to go to bed fairly early, the Rusty Nail, Shed and Matterhorn being the main hubs of excitement. For the non skiier, Stowe is a pretty town for those who like to wander around and shop. There is a ski museam and a nearby shopping mall, however a very popular move seems to be a tour (with samples!) of the Ben and Jerry's ice cream factory down the road!
