Sunny, high altitude resort with great views over the Valley

La Rosiere enjoys a high, sunny location in the Tarentaise Valley with great views of Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn and Monte Rosa. The resort has been built in a traditional chalet style along the road which leads from Bourg St. Maurice to the Petit-St-Bernard pass. The Espace San Bernardo ski area includes La Thuile in Italy, giving you the chance to pop over the border for a real Italian pizza for lunch!

The skiing and boarding

The ski resort of La Rosiere has something to offer every level of skier. For the beginner there are two great nursery areas, one near the main village and one near Les Eucherets where many new chalets are being built. For the intermediate there are plenty of reds and blues on both the La Rosiere side and on the Italian side towards La Thuile. The expert can find some good off-piste and will enjoy the famous Marcassin run to La Vaz, as well as the opportunity to try heli-skiing across the border in Italy.  more >>

The apres ski

The ski resort of La Rosiere is a growing resort which now has a choice of quiet and more lively bars, including Arpin’s, a popular karaoke venue, and Le Pub, which is open until late. There are several restaurants in the village centre serving Savoyard and Italian specialities. There is a cinema and an indoor climbing wall, and the ski school can organise paragliding and scenic flights. Children or those young at heart can even enjoy a visit to see the real St Bernard dogs!   more >>

La Rosiere overview

Small, attractive and purpose-built, the ski resort of La Rosière is a quiet and friendly resort in the Savoie region.  The views of Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn and Monte Rosa are fantastic. One of the main attractions is the connection with La Thuile in Italy. This appeals to intermediates who enjoy cruising over the border for an authentic pizza, but more importantly draws those wishing to take advantage of the heliskiing opportunities that the connection with Italy brings.

La Rosière is perhaps best suited to beginner or intermediate skiers or snowboarders who are looking for a peaceful chalet holiday. The Espace Bernado has 150km of runs for beginners and intermediates to explore but experts may tire of the slopes after a couple of days. This could be solved with a heli-skiing/boarding trip or a visit to the nearby slopes of Val D’Isère, Tignes or Ste. Foy. The snow is good in La Rosière and even better over in La Thuile, and sunshine bathes most of the pistes, a rare find in France.
