Located below Mont Blanc on the Italian side of the mountain, in the Aosta Valley, the atmospheric ski resort of Courmayeur is full of character. The mountain scenery around the ski resort of Courmayeur is spectacular with views towards Mont Blanc, Western Europe’s highest mountain. The town is surrounded by fourteen mountain peaks over 13000 feet high and is at the junction of Italy, France and Switzerland. It can be reached easily from both Geneva and Turin.

The skiing in Courmayeur covers 50km of trails, with varied terrain, mainly above the tree line, with the north-facing slopes of the resort ensuring good conditions. Over half of the marked trails are ideal for intermediate skiers, with a series of 27 lifts serving the resort and taking passengers from the resort base of 1,225m up to the peak of 2,775m. Après-ski in Courmayeur begins with the passeggiata, a stroll down the main street before a late dinner that typically lasts late into the night. At Bar Roma on the main street you will find an old world atmosphere and at also at Café Della Posta with the addition of a massive fireplace surrounded by couches in the back room behind the bar. A newer spot, but just as crowded, is the Cadran Solaire, a wine bar in a cosy wine cellar atmosphere. The American Bar is a more traditional bar. If you can push through the crowd at the bar, you will discover a hidden room with comfortable seats and a fireplace. Above the American Bar is a tapas bar called Le Privé. The most popular discos are The Jimmy Night Cafe, Poppy’s Pub and Planet Disco Bar and the bar in I Marquis. more>>

The ski resort of Courmayeur can boast three centuries of tourism with original visitors coming to experience the benefits of local mineral springs. The ski resort of Courmayeur oozes traditional charm. The pretty cobbled main street is car free and is lined with restaurants, bars and chic Italian shops. At weekend's, people watching is part of the après ski scene and the resort is buzzing when well-dressed weekenders arrive from Turin and Milan on Friday through to Sunday to fill the resort. There are many famous and popular bars including Bar Roma, American Bar, Ice Bar, Caffe Della Posta, Caffe del Centro, Cadron Solaire and the Red Lion
The skiing in Courmayeur caters to all levels of skier and has 100 km of pistes. Access is provided to other resorts in the Aosta Valley, with a combined area of almost 800 km of runs and over 50 km of cross-country trails available. Chamonix is just across the border and is linked to one of the resort's ski areas, offering a wide range of skiing options and off piste routes on both sides of the border. The ski resort of Courmayeur boasts a good snow record and has widespread snowmaking facilities.
