Chalet Holidays

Catered chalets - the most relaxing way to ski

With an informal relaxed atmosphere, a chalet is your own mountain home for your stay. It is home-from-home skiing with no domestic chores and trained chalet hosts preparing delicious 3 or 4 course meals for you.

Chalets are often family homes and vary from picturesque chocolate box mountain retreats to purpose-built chalet apartments with all rooms en suite. Many enjoy prime ski-in/out locations and others are close to the slopes. More and more boast their own (or access to) saunas, Jacuzzis and pools.

Either reserve a whole chalet for you and your friends/family and make it your own or book rooms and meet fellow skiers and boarders. Staff do their utmost to make sure every chalet is a warm, comfortable and welcoming refuge to return to at the end of your ski day. That’s why you’ll need your slippers!

Excellent service and delicious food will ensure you have a wonderful ski holiday whatever you choose. Please see the links on your chosen property page to view the meal plans.

Chalet Hotels

Great service, great locations, great value

A chalet hotel combines the relaxed informal atmosphere of a chalet with some of the services of a hotel, a great location, most rooms en suite and a larger number of guests to meet and mingle with.

You will enjoy hearty breakfasts, warming afternoon tea or coffee, home made cakes and delicious freshly prepared 3 or 4 course evening meals. The staff are specially trained to deliver an excellent service in a friendly and efficient manner to make your ski holiday a truly relaxing and enjoyable one.

Great locations
Chalet hotels enjoy superb locations very close to the slopes in some cases almost ski-in/out. In addition, they offer the comfort of the vast majority of rooms en suite.

Chalet and Chalet Hotel Ratings

To help you choose the perfect chalet or chalet hotel we have our own rating system. If you still can’t decide, ask a member of our reservations team for their advice.

*          Extremely basic, budget accommodation.
**        Simple, no frills, but fantastic value for money.
***      Comfortable, mid-range accommodation with a high ratio of bathrooms to bedrooms.
****    Superior accommodation and service.
*****  The ultimate in both accommodation and service.

The + indicates that the property offers something extra such as being in a great location, superior service, a higher ratio of bathrooms than other properties within that classification etc.

The ratings are not an official classification but are subjective and based on scores allocated by our senior managers and guest feedback.

Groups

Chalets and chalet hotels are the ideal choice for groups – they give you the opportunity to have your own mountain home to yourselves with the additional benefit of an informal, relaxed ‘at home’ atmosphere.

If you have just 7 people in your group you can enjoy unbeatable group discounts which could mean that up to 1 in 5 of your group travels FREE. Please view the group discounts on your chosen property description page or give us a ring to help trace those properties that are going to offer you the largest discount.

Families

Chalets and chalet hotels are the ideal choice for families – they give you the opportunity to have your own mountain home to yourselves with the additional benefit of an informal, relaxed ‘at home’ atmosphere.

Some properties are run by companies that offer childcare – either morning or afternoon care with half day ski school, or crèches for those too young to ski yet. Please either view the childcare link on your chosen property page or give us a call so we can guide you towards those companies who offer childcare.

Child and Infant Prices

Child and infant prices vary. Please either click on the child prices icon on the property information page to view the specific discounts or give us a ring so we can help you.

Please note that some chalets will only take children if you take the whole chalet while others are child friendly all season. Please check with us which properties would match your needs.

Cots, highchairs and high tea

Charges for cots, highchairs and high tea vary. Please check the prices and order yours at the time of booking and indicate this on your signed booking form.

Most tour operators can provide high tea for your children. Please advice us at the time of booking.

Single Travellers
A chalet or chalet holiday is the ideal way to ski if you are a single booker. We feature a number of properties with single rooms and you can search for these using the advanced search option. In European chalets a few companies offer the possibility of sharing a room with another single booker and therefore not paying a supplement.
