The resort

Snowsure Peaks and Effortlessy Chic

The ski resort of Beaver Creek is an elegant and secluded resort located in Colorado's Vail Valley - just a 10-15 minute (approx.) drive from world-famous Vail. Developed in the 1980s, the village exudes European charm, rather than the wild west feel of other North American resorts. With its traffic-free village centre and blissfully quiet slopes, smart boutiques, log cabin restaurants and heated walkways to the ski lifts, the ski resort of Beaver Creek is a haven of peace and luxury.

The skiing and boarding

Beaver Creek offers a complete mountain experience to skiers and boarders. Whether your preference is pristine, groomed trails or jaw-dropping bump runs, the terrain here has it all. With efficient, fast chair lifts everywhere you look, the slopes are delightfully quiet and queues to get up the mountain are virtually a thing of the past. There are superb novice runs and nursery slopes, and a family zone at the top of the Cinch chair.

Intermediates can enjoy long cruising blues and perfect terrain off the Larkspur, Strawberry Park, Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead chairs. There are fantastic tree-lined and carving slopes ideal for snowboarders; and for experts, the World Cup Birds of Prey Downhill course and Grouse Mountain area are long, steep and often mogulled from top to bottom.

The apres ski

Life off the slopes in Beaver Creek is just as varied and exciting as the mountain. As well offering a variety of boutiques, galleries, cafes and bars, at the village centre lies an incredible open-air ice rink surrounded by heated walkways. And its best kept secret: a 500-seat amphitheatre below the ice which hosts symphonies, ballet, film, broadway musicals and comedy.

As if that wasn’t enough, non-skiers can also enjoy a hot-air balloon ride over the mountains; and there is a regular bus service that runs between Beaver Creek and Vail for those who wish to venture out of resort. Although mountain restaurants in the Beaver Creek ski area are limited in choice, eating out in resort is a different story. You can take a sleigh ride to one of the beautiful log cabins open for dining – Beano’s, Allie’s or Zach’s. Alternatively, Saddleridge is luxurious with a wild west feel. Fresh from the slopes and in need of a beer, Beaver Creek Tavern and Coyote Café are good après-ski bars.
