The resort |
 |
Mountains rising up to 3000 metres surround Arinsal, located at an altitude of 1500 metres and only 9km from the Spanish border. The ski resort of Arinsal was established in the early 1970s when the Western end of the La Massana Valley was developed. It is an attractive Catalan village, to the north of Andorra la Vella, the capital. Situated in the north-western corner away from the hustle and bustle of the more touristy resorts in Andorra the ski area offers an attractive mix of well groomed, tree lined pistes ideal for the beginner and early intermediate.

Resort overview |
 |
The twin cable car takes you from the very top of Arinsal's slopes to the Coll de la Botella in the Seturia valley in Pal within 8 minutes, giving you some of the most spectacular views across the Seturia valley and across into Spain. The ski resort of Arinsal is a popular base, ideal for a fun and inexpensive skiing holiday with a lively nightlife.
The ski resort of Pal is a quiet and picturesque mountain village over the ridge from Arinsal (about 5km by road), with a small, reasonably varied, wooded ski area a couple of kilometres further up the hill.
It remains a tiny hamlet hidden away in a picturesque valley. It is remarkably different from its nearby neighbours, and the link between the ski areas is a great enhancement for both resorts. Pal has a small area of local slopes, which are the most wooded of the Andorran resorts.
Arinsal's ski school is its pride and joy. It offers good technical tuition and patient instruction. English is widely spoken; prices are low; and lessons are fun. There is a ski kindergarten and a non-skiing crèche for younger children.
