About Accommodation
There are two en-suite bedrooms with bathrooms, two en-suite bedrooms with showers. The remaining two bedrooms each have a separate bathroom abd a separate w.c. There is a dining room with open plan kitchen and a separate lounge. "Grand Pares" is local patois meaning "steep slope" which refers to the mountain to the rear of the chalet. Entrance to the chalet in the winter is on the ground floor via the garage / boot room, complete with boot warmer (there is usually too much snow in winter to be able to use the front door!). From the dining room, which has a large south-facing balcony, there is a spectacular view of the Le Fornet cable car and Le Foret piste (very black!).
This ski chalet is wonderfully positioned both for easy access to skiing / snowboarding and to the Train Rouge, the efficient bus service one uses to get around Val d'Isere when not skiing. In the morning, to get access to the skiing & boarding of Val d'Isere, a stroll of about 75 metres from the chalet's ski boot room takes you to the Fornet cable car, which will whisk you up the mountain. If you are one of these people who like to be on the first ski lift of the day you will be perfectly placed. For those wishing to go to the nursery slopes in the village the bus stop is right outside the chalet with the first bus starting at 8.30am.
