Ski Accommodation In Les Deux Alpes
With a mix of catered and self-catered accommodation Les Deux Alpes is a great resort for skiing on a budget. All accommodation is either a short walk or bus ride from the ski lifts and the town is serviced well by the local buses.
The accommodation standard is not of the same high standard as resorts such as Meribel or Val d'Isere however the skiing more than makes up for this.
The selection of cheaper accommodation is great for families and large groups looking for an inexpensive skiing holiday.
Les Deux Alpes offers an abundance of après-ski life in its bustling and lively town centre. There are plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and nightclubs plus a cinema, bowling alley and sports facilities spread across the long road through the village. The town centre has a heated outdoor pool and ice-rink with free entrance using a six day (or longer) ski pass.
Popular favourites include 'The Secret' (below the Hotel Cret) with good prices and a lively atmosphere, 'Smithy's', which has regular events and live music and if you're after some tasty traditional cuisine head to 'Le Trappeur' for fantastic, reasonably priced authentic French cuisine and a shot of locally made Génépi. While 'Santa Fee' and the 'Brazilian' are popular with French tourists, most of the 32 bars around town have a mix of patrons, truly offering something for everyone. 'Bar Rhumerie' in the centre of town is a good place for a quiet drink early on with its eclectic range of rums from all over the world.
There are themed bars dotted around the town and for late night dancing, 'L'Avalanche' play typical euro-club cheese while 'La Casa' is fashionable with French and Italian crowds. 'L'Opera' in Le Village is a really great club with 3 floors, countless guest DJs of different styles and a live music room.
Other activities available in Les Deux Alpes include snowshoeing, paragliding, ice climbing, hang-gliding, helicopter trips and snowmobiles.
