Ski Holidays In Les Deux Alpes

Europe's largest skiable glacier offers breathtaking views and superb snow conditions
One of the highest resorts in France, this historic and charming ski resort has 220kms of piste and lifts positioned every few hundred yards, so you'll never have far to go.  Ski slopes descend along both sides of the resort in a high altitude valley joining the 'two alps' of Venosc and Mont de Lans.

Ski Accommodation In Les Deux Alpes

With a mix of catered and self-catered accommodation Les Deux Alpes is a great resort for skiing on a budget.  All accommodation is either a short walk or bus ride from the ski lifts and the town is serviced well by the local buses.
The accommodation standard is not of the same high standard as resorts such as Meribel or Val d'Isere however the skiing more than makes up for this.
The selection of cheaper accommodation is great for families and large groups looking for an inexpensive skiing holiday.

About the Skiing and Boarding in Les Deux Alpes

It is safe to say there is something for every kind of skier/boarder in Les Deux Alpes and with such good altitude the snow is definitely some of the best available in the French Alps. Skiing in Les Deux Alpes offers something for all levels and beginners will quickly progress from the nursery slopes in the centre of town to the gentle slopes on the glacier itself. On the Pied Moutet side of the mountain there are plenty of wide, intermediate pistes. The Super Diable run challenges the best skiers and boarders and the Serre Palas bumps are used for international competitions.
The resort is ideal for snowboarders with one of the best snowboard parks in Europe which is open nearly all year round while quality off piste is available over the back of the Meige.
Les Deux Alpes is ideal for non-skiers too with access to both the glacier and the lower village of Venosc by passenger gondola.

Après Ski in Les Deux Alpes

Les Deux Alpes offers an abundance of après-ski life in its bustling and lively town centre. There are plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and nightclubs plus a cinema, bowling alley and sports facilities spread across the long road through the village. The town centre has a heated outdoor pool and ice-rink with free entrance using a six day (or longer) ski pass.

Popular favourites include 'The Secret' (below the Hotel Cret) with good prices and a lively atmosphere, 'Smithy's', which has regular events and live music and if you're after some tasty traditional cuisine head to 'Le Trappeur' for fantastic, reasonably priced authentic French cuisine and a shot of locally made Génépi. While 'Santa Fee' and the 'Brazilian' are popular with French tourists, most of the 32 bars around town have a mix of patrons, truly offering something for everyone. 'Bar Rhumerie' in the centre of town is a good place for a quiet drink early on with its eclectic range of rums from all over the world.

There are themed bars dotted around the town and for late night dancing, 'L'Avalanche' play typical euro-club cheese while 'La Casa' is fashionable with French and Italian crowds. 'L'Opera' in Le Village is a really great club with 3 floors, countless guest DJs of different styles and a live music room.

Other activities available in Les Deux Alpes include snowshoeing, paragliding, ice climbing, hang-gliding, helicopter trips and snowmobiles.
