Ski Holidays In Bulgaria
Bulgaria is a popular choice with the UK market due to its low costs and the suitability of the ski area for beginner and intermediate skiers. The two main resorts (Bansko and Borovets) offer a mix of budget accommodation and high standard hotels all within close proximity to the slopes. Bulgaria has reputable ski schools and a lively nightlife scene, making it perfect for groups and first timers who want a fun holiday without the eye-watering pricetag.
Ski Resorts In Bulgaria
Bansko | Borovets
Bansko is Bulgaria's number one ski resort. It's an old town with friendly locals, an atmospheric centre and modern hotels, apartments, bars and restaurants. On the mountain there's an efficient lift system covering over 70kms of gentle and varied slopes including easy blues back into the town and some reds which are long and challenging.
Borovets is a lively village with Alpine-style charm and slopes best suited to intermediates. The diverse apres scene has earned it the title of 'the Benidorm of skiing', so expect an emphasis on 'apres' rather than 'ski'. Borovets is Bulgaria's oldest ski resort and the largest. It features a mixture of large modern hotels and small bars, clubs and restaurants, all only 72km from Sofia which means short airport transfers.
