Claiming to have the largest mountain, largest number of quad chairs, most snowmaking ability and the longest season in the East, the ski resort of Killington has a lot to say for itself. The sometimes complex network of trails covers 6 peaks, all of which have good terrain for most levels of skiier. Although there is no real resort centre, (the 'resort' is spread over a 5 mile stretch), there is a lively apres ski scene. Having a car is a real advantage, even though the buses are good, and with good board and terrain parks, there is plenty to keep all types of mountain user happy.

Killington is widely spread over 5 miles, with modest village area, however the efficient shuttle service is quite convenient. With a lively après ski scene and plenty of other activities available, Killington is ideal for families. Quality accommodation is available throughout the area. For ski-in/ski-out convenience, try the Killington Grand Resort right next to the Snowshed base area. For great value, check out the Inn of Six Mountains about one mile from the resort, offering spacious rooms and an outdoor heated pool.
About the Skiing and Boarding in Killington
The ski resort of Killington has some good terrain for all levels, Snowdon, Killington and Skye being the main 3 mountain peaks. Beginners have excellent nursery slopes on the Snowshed slopes, as well as good runs on the Rams Head sector. Intermediates have plenty of cruising runs, especially on Snowdon and Skye. Navigation in previous years has been slightly tricky, however new signposting has made it easier. Experts have the Bear Mountain area to explore along with several double black runs under the the chairlifts on Killington Peak.
Skiing in Killington offers 6 different areas to ski: Snowshed is serviced by 3 lifts. An open slope, Snowshed is the perfect place to ski for beginners. Rams Head offers beginner and intermediate slopes and it perfect for family skiing.
There is a lodge and restaurant at the base of Rams Head. Snowdon Mountain offers a fantastic variety of pistes to suit all levels of skier whilst Killington Peak offers great skier for advanced skiers with several black runs and some excellent off piste. Skye Peak offers some challenging skiing and has some of the steepest runs in Killington. Bear Mountain offers some mogul skiing and is home to the terrain parks and superpipe. Pico Mountain is located a short drive away from Killington. This ski area offers over 50 trails with skiing for all levels of skier. Pico History belongs to the ski resort of Killington but is the only part of the resort not connected.
