Meribel's Altitude Festival 2010 scheduled for 20th-26th March
Category: General news | Published: 26th January 2010

Excellent skiing conditions are not the only reason to head to Meribel in March this year, because the resort plays host to the 3rd Annual Altitude festival.

Organisers Marcus Brigstocke and Andrew Maxwell have seen the festival go from strength to strength since they first combined thier love of comedy, music and snowboarding to form this riotous week of gags, gigs and grabs.

Past performers have inluded an impressive amount of Perrier, Chortle and Bafta award winners and nominees. Indeed, festival-goers are often lucky enough to hear material that is as fresh as the snow on the mountains as the performers prepare forthe upcoming Edinburgh festival. This year, apart from performances from the organisers Marcus Brigstocke and Andrew Maxwell, expect brilliant acts from Neil Delamere, Colin Murphy, Rufus Hound, Micky Flanagan, Stephen Frost and lots more. Festival organisers promise a real 'mixing up styles from improv, stand up, satire, sketch and physical comedy.' Furthermore, the festival caters for a number of nationalities and languages, making this the only bilingual comedy event in Europe!

To complement the laughs, this year's Altitude fesitval organisers have booked an eclectic mix of musicians. Platinum selling folk artist Newton Faulkner, funksters The Cuban Brothers, vinyl master DJ Yoda and Dub don Barry Ashworth have all been booked to provide the soundtrack to the alpine fun.

With such an array of talent on offer it is easy to forget the slopes. But, with events scheduled in Big air, boarder cross, slope style, classic GS, snowball fights, three legged ski races, expression sessions, sister sessions and even sky diving displays, do so at your peril!

Tickets available include a 'All Venue, 3 Show Pass' for €55.00, 'All Venue, 5 Show Pass' for €90.00 or individual show tickets from €15.00.
