Ski Holiday Hero – Charlie

Skitracer Holiday Hero CharlieSkiing since the age of four, I learnt to ski in Val d’Isere and Breckenridge. I love getting off piste and away from the crowds and have skiied most major French ski resorts and a fair few Swiss and Austrian. Venturing outside of Europe, I have also skied the better part of Colorado, interior British Columbia and more recently Japan.

Recommended Ski Resort?

I’d recommend Revelstoke in Canada for powder hounds and those who are dedicated to a week of skiing/boarding and not too bothered with nightlife. It’s steep and deep with North America’s highest vertical and  oozes epic snowfall. Revelstoke has excellent bang for your buck with lift accesed, cat AND heli skiing in resort!

Set around a small trucking town, Revelstoke is a real gem for British Columbia with only a few main lifts and lots of un-groomed terrain ensuring the slopes are never too busy. Revelstoke’s North Bowl is a giant powder field that will keep you screaming for more, meanwhile, Eagle Pass heli-skiing is not far and offers accommodation and heli trips deep into the Monashee Mountains. Having helped in the filming of Art of Flight, this friendly and experienced outfit is highly recommended!

Ski Holiday Hero - Camilla

Skitracer Holiday Hero Camilla I started skiing when I was 18 and found myself working a season in Serre Chevalier.  From there the addiction sunk in and I was constantly in and out of the Alps.  Whilst at  university and beyond, I was either working or holidaying there whenever I had a spare second.   The people, the sport, the atmosphere and the mountains are an addictive combination.  I love flying down empty groomers and going off piste and out into untouched bowls.  I have been to a vast array of resorts in France, Switzerland and Austria and have just moved back to England after a few years living in Whistler.

Recommended Ski Resort?

Whistler, Canada. It is just epic.  It is rare to find a resort which can offer so much to so many different people.   From off piste ski bums living in the forests to glamorous VIPs swishing down pistes and into spas, it is impossible to get bored there.  The skiing is very diverse, with some frankly terrifying off piste, excellent tree runs, cruisey blues and amazing parks.  Then once you are skied-out for the day you have the task of deciding what to do next; bungee jumping, oyster bars, explore frozen lakes or just some good old fashioned après!

Ski Holiday Hero - Jake

skitracer holiday hero Jake
I started snowboarding at 17 (almost missing the party!) but as soon as I visited the resort of La Joue du Loup - I knew I wanted to return to the mountains. Several trips during University confirmed my passion for snow sports and I decided to spend the season 13/14 working in Risoul. There, I learnt to ski and have never looked back! Joining Skitracer, I am lucky enough to have visited most French ski resorts, along with some Austrian and Italian resorts too – Perks of the job!

Recommended Ski Resort?

Val d’Isere! It has everything you could ask for although Risoul will always be a second home after spending my first season there.

ski holiday hero - aMY

I started skiing at a later age- but quickly got the bug! 1 season turned into 3 and I did everything from chalet  hosting to  working as a rep!  I obviously love the skiing but also the social aspect of a ski holiday- its a great thing to do as a group of friends.

Recommended ski resort?

Meribel  – without a doubt! It has the whole package of top skiing,  combined  with  everything you could possibly want from a resort.
