Les Arcs Ski Resort, France
Les Arcs Ski Resort
The definition of skiing convenience.
The ski resort of Les Arcs consists of four modern purpose-built ski resorts at 1600, 1800, 1950 and 2000 meters, these are spread out and accommodation is generally well placed for access to the skiing and other activities. Arc 1800 is the largest village with a lively atmosphere in après entertainment, shops and bars and restaurants, whilst Arc 2000 has extremely convenient skiing access and at 2000 meters it’s a very snow-sure place to stay, Arc 1950 the most recent addition to the resort, is more rustic in style, with each building designed to have views of either a valley or a peak. Linked with La Plagne ski resort, Les Arcs is part of the ‘Paradiski’ area offering 425 kms of pistes, all conveniently located and well groomed; providing both good on and off piste skiing throughout the ski season.

About the Skiing and Boarding in Les Arcs
Skiing in Les Arcs has taken on a new dimension with the two areas of Les Arcs and La Plagne becoming accessible on the Paradiski lift pass. The ski resort of Les Arcs offers excellent skiing and boarding for every level and the superb lift system makes getting back to base very easy from any point.
The Glacier du Varet guarantees good snow all season and offers one of the longest runs in the world: the 7km descent from Aiguille Rouge to Villaroger. Beginners benefit from the abundant blue runs while intermediates can enjoy the high altitude bowls and tree-lined runs to Peisey Nancroix. Advanced skiers should try the challenge of the Deux Tétes but it’s fair to say the resort doesn’t have the most challenging terrain and whilst it will entertain advanced skiers who are part of a mixed group it is worth looking at Espace Killy or other resorts if your only looking for the more challenging stuff.
Après Ski in Les Arcs
Arcs 1800 is definitely the liveliest village in Les Arcs and is arguably the best for après and late night partying, The Red Hot Saloon bar in Galerie des Villards or ‘Red Bar’ It has a large dance floor and friendly, English speaking staff.
The Ambiente Bar, also in the Villards area, (near to the Red Bar) is more of a traditional themed bar. You can sample a tasty cocktail or have a game of darts with some of the locals.
Jungle Café in the Place des Villards Arcs 1800 with its jungle themed interior is a pretty cheap but fun place to grab a well deserved drink and is open all day until 1am.
Le Gabotte, is a ski instructor after work hangout. The place also attracts a lot of English and Dutch people alike.
Arc 1950 is also very lively and has a good choice for Apres Ski. With its ski in/ski out location, the village is perfect for après.
Le Club 1950 is always a good destination for late night antics and some cheesy tunes.
The Mont Blanc Bar, right at the top of Vallandry close to the Grizzly chair lift is accessible from the piste so you can stop off for après straight of the slopes! There is a large terrace facing La Plagne where you can catch the last of the day’s rays, DJ’s play regularly with specific nights such as Drum and Bass and Hip Hop.
La Belle Pinte is a large Irish pub in Arc 1950 it has a sophisticated feel and this quickly turns to a lively party atmosphere of an evening, it is well worth a visit as the décor is nice and the bar has a grand feel to it.
The Apokalypse club in 1800 is probably the most popular nightclub and KL92 in 2000 is also a good choice for the serious late nighters.
