About the Skiing & Boarding in Val d'Isere

The combined lift systems of the ski resorts of Val d'Isère and Tignes (the famous Espace Killy - 300km of marked runs) offer some of the very best skiing and boarding in the world. The excellent lift system also provides access to some of the most exciting off-piste in the Alps, such as Le Tour du Charvet, Le Grand Vallon and the Col du Pers.
The snowpark, run by Oakley! is a popular park for training and competitions due to it's fantastic park management team and challenging obstacles, facilities are well developed and offer the opportunity to try a little freestyle on the green jumps or just want to brush up on your Backside 5's over the huge black Kickers!
The Ski Tranquil area provides sunny, easy going skiing for beginners and those who tend to enjoy cruising open, groomed pistes. The huge amount of off-piste terrain (some of the best being in La Fornet) will challenge the most advanced skiers and we strongly recommend you take a guide to some of these areas as this can be highly dangerous, many people return year after year to explore the open and vast amount of skiing the Espace Killy region has to offer.

Après Ski in Val d'Isere

Val d'Isère offers possibly the most excluxive and lively après-ski in the Alps!
The choice places for earlier in the eve are the 'Pacific Bar', 'Saloon' or 'Le Petit Danois' or 'Cafe Face' and 'The Lodge' for more of a French ambience.
The famous 'Dick's T-Bar' is open late for those who still have energy for dancing, the premises has been recently renovated and is more of a Club than a Tea Bar!
Be sure to check out the piste side Folie Douce aswell one of Val d'Isere's premier bars, situated at the top of the Télécabine de la Daille (easy to get to and from the lower part of the resort) and with live music and resident DJ's kicking off at 2pm this draws a large crowd and generally goes off with a bang seeing people dancing on the tables, drinking champagne and generally having a great time piste-side!
Val d'Isère offers a wide variety of restaurants to please any appetite; from fish and sushi to the local French cuisine. There is also an ice rink, fitness centre, swimming pool, ice climbing, skidooing, ice karting and parapenting.  The town centre of Val D'Isere is full of chic fashion and ski equipment boutiques, plus there are delicatessens and bakeries which are very good but not the cheapest in the Alps.
Other activities include Paragliding, Snowmobiles, Tobogganing, Ice climbing, Bobsledding and you can visit the BMW ice driving center located at the entrance to the resort so there is plenty to do on a day off and to keep non-skiers entertained.
