About the Skiing and Boarding in Tignes

The skiing in Tignes stretches from the Grande Motte glacier at 3656m down to the villages of Le Fornet and Les Brevieres at either end of the ski area. Beginners will find some good nursery slopes leading into the Valley whilst intermediates will find many wide and lengthy pistes, enabling them to ski from one end of the ski resort to the other using only blue and red runs. Experts should not miss the steep mogul fields at Tovière, Solaise and incredible off-piste runs such as Le Tour du Charvet, Le Grand Vallon and the Col du Pers.
Grab a full area lift pass and at a small extra cost you can also grab the Aeroski along with many other lifts from all other areas of the resort over to Val D'isere and take full advantage of the huge Espace Killy Ski Area. For the adventurous park rider there are two snowparks, the Swatch Park in Tignes and the Oakley Park in Val D'isere both are home to big competitons and are highly maintained throughout the season. For the Snow Seeker head up to one of the two Glaciers to find some of the best White Stuff in the Alps.
The region boasts 25 black runs, 46 red runs, 61 blue runs & 22 green runs so it's safe to say you'll have plenty to keep even the most adventurous riders happy.

Après Ski in Tignes

There are many many great bars and restaurants too choose from in Tignes we've highlighted some of the best
Le Lavachet Le Brasero has the widest choice of beers on tap in Tignes, as well as good food and great service. Prices are reasonable which makes it popular with the locals and there's a nice chilled atmosphere with accoustic sessions in the après-ski hours.
Le Lac Alpaka Lodge: "more like a pub than a bar, it's perfect if you like to sit down in front a blazing log fire with a vin chaud after a hard (and chilly) day's skiing."
The Loop Bar: the south facing terrace comes into its own in spring. It's the place to be at 5pm as the sun goes down. The bar has live music on Tuesdays, Wednesdays (both après-ski and in the evening), and Thursdays. This is one of the best venue's for live music in the resort.
Jacks Club:  Dance to 70s disco, 80s cheese and 90s rock late into the night good location to the accommodation this is a popular choice in Le Lac.

Val Claret Grizzly's in Val Claret is described as the best or at least most well known bar in town, with its quirky bear skin rugs, outdoor seating and occasionally an Igloo outside at certain times of the season it's a popular choice for all.
Le Couloir: Trendy and funky, the Couloir is also the place to go to try out some exotic flavoured vodka, with over 40 different flavours. Good for Apres and running into the night, it is frequented by all sorts of people. Tapas also available if your peckish and the restaurant upstairs is well worth a visit.
Saloon: A popular choice with seasonaire's, English run and cheaper drinks mean this is a good stop before hitting the later opening clubs or heading back to the chalet.
Blue Girl: Open Late and Featuring 'dancers' and 'paninis' this is certainly a great choice for the brave and hungry night owl.

For those still with energy, other après activities in Tignes include bowling, a natural ice rink, and the highly equipped leisure centre 'Le Lagon', boasts slides, a waterfall, adult and children's pools, as well as Jacuzzis, a large steam room and a gym.
