About the Skiing and Boarding in Tignes

The skiing in Tignes stretches from the Grande Motte glacier at 3656m down to the villages of Le Fornet and Les Brevieres at either end of the ski area. Beginners will find some good nursery slopes, whilst intermediates will find many wide and lengthy pistes, enabling them to ski from one end of the ski resort to the other using only blue and red runs. Experts should not miss the steep mogul fields at Tovière and Solaise and incredible off-piste such as Le Tour du Charvet, Le Grand Vallon and the Col du Pers.

Après Ski in Tignes

Tignes' nightlife and apres ski activities have been known in the past to be slightly limited.  Recently however an influx of DJs and new Bars have improved the nightlife greatly. Two of the popular après-ski bars in Tignes Val Claret are 'Crowded House' and 'The Fish Tank', both guaranteeing a lively night, with live sport, table football and resident DJs playing popular chart music, electro and funky house. If live music is more to your taste, 'Move Cafe' is a usual venue for bands.   Val Claret's has two late night clubs; the 'Melting Pot' always has a good selection of dance music and 'Blue Girl' is a fun and infamous euro club. Popular in Tignes Lavachet are 'TC’s Bar', 'Scotties,' and 'Le Brasero' (with live music 4 times a week). In Tignes Le Lac there are always skilful DJs on at the 'Loop Bar' where you can shoot pool, and 'L'Embuscade' is has a real French feel.  Le Lac also has a late club called 'Jacks' which is fun if you don't shudder at the thought of dancing to 70s disco, 80s cheese and 90s rock. For those still with energy, other après activities in Tignes include bowling, a natural ice rink, and the new swimming pool “Le Lagon”, boasts slides, a waterfall, adult and children’s pools, as well as Jacuzzis, a large steam room and a gym.
