Skiing in Snowbird resort - USA

Powder powder everywhere!
Just 45 minutes from Salt Lake City Airport you will discover ‘The Greatest Snow on Earth’. Snowbird’s arid climate creates the lightest powder you will ever experience. The snow at Snowbird is the stuff of legends. Opened in December of 1971 with only three lifts; the Tram, and a few accommodation buildings, Snowbird was created by skiers for skiers and still holds true to this philosophy. With minimal accommodation development Snowbird remains a quiet, queue-free resort for the serious skier. Over 2,500 acres of powdery trails and a cozy pedestrian village is surrounded by beautiful, rugged mountain scenery.

About the Skiing and Boarding in Snowbird

Snowbird receives a phenomenal amount of snow each year. And it’s not just about quantity, but also quality – light, fluffy champagne powder unlike anywhere else! Skiers and boarders delight in waist-deep tree runs and vast bowls. All this snow and terrain is easily accessible via eight chairlifts and one powerful aerial tram, which carries 125 passengers to the summit of 11,000-foot Hidden Peak. Skiers can enjoy even more fun in the nearby snowy playground of Alta resort. Restricted to skiers only, Alta celebrates fabulous bowls, glades and excellent tree skiing. With a vertical drop of 3,000 feet and more than 500 inches of annual snowfall it's almost impossible to run out of new trails to try at Snowbird, even with a ski season running from mid-November to mid-May.
