Skiing in Japan

Japan offers one of the most amazing skiing experiences in the world because it is renowned for its waist deep, dry and light powder snow. The uncrowded peaceful slopes mean you can enjoy fresh untracked powder on wide intermediate runs throughout the entire day. Then if you are keen for more skiing, you can continue on until 9pm each night on the strongly floodlit slopes to find out what night skiing is really about.

Hakuba

Skiing in Hakuba, Japan   Hakuba is quite simply the skiing mecca of Japan. With 10 resorts and 200 runs, of which several have been used in the 1998 Winter Olympics; it is hard not to be impressed. Skiing Hakuba is not for the faint hearted with some of the most chellenging terrain in the world. The local town offers an excellent mixture of both western and Japanese restaurants and bars to ensure that everyone is catered for.
 

Niseko

Skiing in Niseko, Japan   The Niseko mountain has four ski areas and three villages, Annupuri, Higashiyama and Grand Hirafu which are all connected at the base with a free shuttle bus. Niseko and Rusutsu resorts both benefits from consistent temperatures, allowing them to retain excellent snow conditions and offer plenty of powder skiing for all abilities. Apres ski in Niseko is a fantastic and lively experience, with a huge variety of bars and restaurants available.
 

Rusutsu

  Rusutsu is an exotic skiing destination off the beaten track with legendary snowfall. Massive quantities of snow fall regularly in all three Hokkaido resorts, though Rusutsu lies further inland where temperatures are usually a little colder and the snow quality is often finer. Niseko and Rusutsu resorts both benefits from consistent temperatures, allowing them to retain excellent snow conditions and offer plenty of powder skiing for all abilities.
