Igls Ski Resort, Austria
Igls is a small charming resort located just above Innsbruck. The skiing is varied and spread out, all ski areas accessable by free ski buses including the Stubai glacier. Igls is a great resort to stay in as can choose whether to stay in resort or travel out to any of the local towns, or enjoy the snug cafes and popular restaurants. There is plenty to do and see for non-skiiers, and the skiing terrain is extensive. Great for families and all skiing levels.

About the Skiing and Boarding in Igls
Igls is best known for its glacier skiing at Stubai, above Patscherkofel. The skiing on Patscherkofel is revolved around the excellent and varied red run that formed the men's downhill course in 1976 and took ski racing (and the Olympic gold medal) by storm. There is also a selection of blue runs for beginners. Advanced skiiers have a few choices in Patscherkofel, but for more of a challenge can head up to the Stubai glacier, or any of the other mountains in the vast ski area. Axamer Lizum has a great selection of black runs. Snowboarders will enkoy Patscherkofel, and there is a snowpark in Stubai.
Apres Ski in Igls
Speak generally, Igls has a relaxed apres ski scene because of its reputation for being a excellent family resort. It is low-key and casual with a few bars and cafes, or entertainment within hotels. There is plenty of activities to take advantage of like ice-skating, Bobsleighing, winter walking, indoor tennis, sleigh rides and a selection of excursions.
