Located below Mont Blanc on the Italian side of the mountain, in the Aosta Valley, the atmospheric ski resort of Courmayeur is full of character. The mountain scenery around the ski resort of Courmayeur is spectacular with views towards Mont Blanc, Western Europe’s highest mountain. The town is surrounded by fourteen mountain peaks over 13000 feet high and is at the junction of Italy, France and Switzerland. It can be reached easily from both Geneva and Turin.

About the Skiing and Boarding in Courmayeur

The skiing in Courmayeur covers 50km of trails, with varied terrain, mainly above the tree line, with the north-facing slopes of the resort ensuring good conditions. Over half of the marked trails are ideal for intermediate skiers, with a series of 27 lifts serving the resort and taking passengers from the resort base of 1,225m up to the peak of 2,775m. It’s not possible to ski back down to village, with skiers making the return journey by lift or bus.

Courmayeur is a traditional Italian mountain town, with cobbled streets, slate roofs, views over Mt Blanc, fashion boutiques, delicatessens hung with salamis and local cheese, fragrant cafés, and more bars and restaurants than you would believe.


The indoor Sports Centre (Via della Stadio) has a huge skating rink, and curling. It also offers indoor tennis, squash, a golf driving range, climbing wall, gym and sauna.
