About the Skiing and Boarding

The skiing and boarding in Avoriaz is big. The village is situated in the centre of the skiing area, which is quite high in the Portes du Soleil area, ensuring brilliant snow. It is very convenient for beginners as there are plenty of blue runs, but has proved even better for intermediates because of all the red runs. The challenging terrain for advanced skiiers and boarders is very good, but scattered over the resort. The brilliant free riding area is not for the faint hearted, though it allows you to ride off-piste safely and have just as much fun. The snowpark in the resort is called The Stash designed by Jake Burton himself, and there is often great powder - snowboarders can't go wrong in Avoriaz!

Apres Ski in Avoriaz

Avoriaz gets lively in a few good places. The Yeti is busy at 4pm straight off the slopes. The Place, Le Shooters, Le Globe and Trotters Cafe are all popular international pubs and play live music. Le Yak is where the fun is later on.
